Rafael Benitez is hoping to have seven of his injured stars available for selection against Birmingham City on Monday night. The boss will make a late decision on whether to start inspirational skipper Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres and he could also be boosted by the availability of Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio, Albert Riera and Nabil El Zhar. Speaking exclusively to Liverpoolfc.tv, after Saturday morning's training session, Benitez said: "We have a lot of good news with players coming back from injury and they all took part in a light training session this morning. "Steven trained on Friday with the physios and did a light training session today with the team and did well. He is improving and has more confidence. "We will decide on Monday before the game if he can play. He hasn't been training for a long time so we have to be careful. "With Fernando we know he has to keep working with the physios and we will see how he progresses. We will see how is he is because he still has some pain so we will decide if he can play on Monday. "Johnson did a light session today and will train again on Sunday. If he is okay then hopefully he will be available to play against Birmingham. "Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio and Nabil El Zhar are doing well and were also involved in the training session so we will decide if they can play on Monday. "Albert Riera also trained after his hamstring injury and that is good news for us. "You can see we have had a lot of young players on the bench in recent weeks but we have more players back in training now. It's good for me and an option we didn't have available before." Jamie Carragher will sit out this game as he serves a one-match ban for his sending-off against Fulham but Alberto Aquilani is in line for a first taste of the Anfield experience after he was an unused substitute in Lyon. The Reds No.4 is unlikely to start against Alex McLeish's side but he is in the squad and the boss added: "His match fitness is still a problem. "We are hopeful of having some players fit and available so maybe he can wait and change the game if it's necessary. "We were controlling the game in Lyon and Lucas and Javier Mascherano were doing a very good job. When we scored we didn't want to change the shape. Aquilani was better after his virus and could have played some part but hopefully now he will be better for Monday." Source.I would love them all to be back but not if they're not fully fit, we don't need them out for months :| Oh and have a Gernando gif :D

| Queiroz to call up injured Ronaldo for play-off |

Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz will name Cristiano Ronaldo in his squad to face Bosnia-Herzegovina in a crucial World Cup qualifying double-header later this month. ( Read more..... )</div> The current FIFA World Player of the Year has not played since limping off early in Portugal's win over Hungary a month ago. Reports earlier this week suggested he will not be fit enough to play again until December. Queiroz has pulled Portugal from what seemed like certain elimination to a second chance play-off against a nation which has never before played at the World Cup finals. The Portuguese are hot favourites but the coach is eager to have his star player available. The news is sure to anger Real, who were furious with Portugal for risking the £80 million man against Hungary, which led to an extended lay-off. That has coincided with a dip in form for a Real side which had started excellently with Ronaldo hitting the ground running. Ronaldo has missed Madrid's last seven matches after initially suffering an injury to his right ankle during the Champions League match with Marseille on September 30. The winger has met with Dutch specialist Professor Niek van Dijk in Amsterdam after tests conducted by Madrid on Wednesday revealed that no improvement had been made since undergoing an MRI scan a week before. Van Dijk, who operated on the 24-year-old's right ankle in the summer of 2008, advised Ronaldo to continue his treatment before returning for a fresh evaluation in 15 days' time. Portugal are due to entertain Bosnia in Lisbon on November 14 with the return meeting scheduled for Zenica four days later. Queiroz told Portuguese television channel TVI24: "I'm going to call up Cristiano Ronaldo and I hope that he can help us, even if it is only for a few minutes. "The specialists have to make the decision on if he can play. Naturally we are concerned, because the most important thing is the player. We want a great Ronaldo, we want a fit player and the first consideration is to know whether he is able to play and contribute anything to the national team.'' Queiroz is set to name his squad on Sunday.

I Want To Win Everything With AC Milan - Alexandre Pato
'The Duck' is buzzing after recent results and wants to do everything he can on the pitch to win trophies with the Rossoneri...After a disappointing start to the season, AC Milan are now in pole position in their Champions League group and have risen to fourth place in the league. While they are still nine points off league leaders Inter, as well as only one point ahead of third-placed Olympique Marseille in Europe, Alexandre Pato is thrilled with the improvement that the Rossoneri have made recently. The young striker has also rediscovered his touch in front of goal in recent weeks, and is desperate to fire Leonardo's side to glory. "I want to win the league and the Champions League, to always be doing well at Milan and to give my best. I am very happy here," he announced in an interview with Sky. "I'm doing well on the right hand side [of Milan's 4-3-3 formation] and I'm doing my job for the coach and for all of my team-mates. I want to go back and help my team-mates in defence, I'm happy to do my work for them and for the team." Milan travel to Lazio this weekend, and will be hoping for a repeat of last season's 3-0 victory in the Stadio Olimpico. While the Biancocelesti have not won in the league since August and were humbled by Villarreal on Thursday night, Pato is under no illusions as to the talent at their disposal. "We know that it's a difficult game, but we have to do what we have been doing in training this week. We will go to Rome in order to get the three points because they are very important for us." Milan Striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Involved In Car Accident - ReportKlaas-Jan Huntelaar has failed to settle at Milan since his summer transfer from Real Madrid, and his morale will not have been helped after an incident off the pitch. According to Sportmediaset, Huntelaar was involved in a car accident in the streets of Milan. Although the Dutchman's vehicle was severely damaged, fortunately the player did not suffer any serious injuries. It is another mishap for the out-of-form and out-of-favour striker, who is yet to score in a competitive match for the Rossoneri. Rumours surrounding the player are suggesting that he could leave the club as soon as January as vice-president Adriano Galliani looks to cut his losses after an outlay of €15m in the summer. Meanwhile, the Rossoneri's move for Ghanaian sensation Dominic Adiyiah is virtually complete. The 20-year-old is set to sign for the club in the coming hours. He may send Huntelaar further down the pecking order when he arrives in January. Source: goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2009/11/05/1606629/milan-striker-klaas-jan-huntelaar-involved-in-car-accidentIt definitely has not been Huntelaar's year, Madrid sell him after only 7 months. He has not been scoring for Milan (considering he hardly ever gets playing time, but that's another story), apparently Holland's coach is basically warning him if he doesn't get first team football his chances of playing in the WC are slim...and now this. :(

(I think that outfit is from the future, and that it's attacking him.)Among others, Puma have chosen a certain Serb to pimp their winter gear. On one hand, this is a sad thing, because he's wearing a shitload of clothes. On the other, though, he can pull off pretty much anything, so it's all good.

So it is time for a little Ronaldo round up! "I have another seven, eight years in football, or more. If my legs give me a chance to play until 40, I want to play," he told FourFourTwo Malaysia.
"But I want to be in the first page of history, the same as Maradona and Pele. I want to be there.
"I know it’s very tough but I think it’s possible if I carry on like that, to win things. I think it’s possible. I know it’s hard, but in my head, it’s possible."
And the former Sporting Lisbon starlet added that he hopes he does not have come face-to-face with former employers Manchester United in the Champions League either this season or next, as he still retains many friends from his successful six-year stint in England.
"I don’t want to play against Manchester. It’s a strange feeling if I play against them," he said.
"But you never know. In the Champions League, everything is possible but I don’t want to play against Manchester.
"I still have the same friends. I speak sometimes with Rooney, Vidic, Ferdinand, Nani, Evra, Anderson.
"It’s good to know what’s going on there and the people like to know if I’m happy here."Souce Joaquin Gonzalez is a Real Madrid Club member for almost twenty years. On Tuesday, he was going to go with his friends to see the game between Milan and Madrid at the San Siro, but Saturday he had to be admitted to the hospital after suffering gastrointestinal bleeding. He missed the game, but on Wednesday became one of the protagonists of the day after receiving the visit of Cristiano Ronaldo. "I was shocked, I could not believe it," said Joaquin, who adds that "he is a very nice person. You can tell that that he is a good person and has a big heart."
On Wednesday morning his friends came from the airport with a very special gift for Joaquin. A scarf commemorating the encounter between the two clubs, his cousin Aris came to see him at the hospital and he was not the only visit he had that morning. "I got the white eyes, it cost me to react when my mother entered the room with Cristiano Ronaldo," said Joaquin added that."I was so shocked that I couldn't move. Then I got up, hugged him and introduced him to my friends."
Joaquin's mother, Antonia Muñoz, had learned that Portuguese was getting an MRI at the hospital and went to fetch him. "Cristiano told me that my mother had asked him and he could not refuse," said Joaquin, and stresses that the player is a very nice and friendly perspn. The Real Madrid fan said that the expereience gave him "great joy to see Cristiano, but also to see the happy face of my mother because her son was happy as well. It was an unforgettable experience.
By having met forward Cristiano Ronaldo, Joaquín confessed that "He is the best player in the world, the most critical and destabilizing, in addition to my captains, Casillas, Raul and Guti. I also told him that I was proud to defend the shield of my team, "recalls excitedly. He was discharged from hospital last night and is resting at home.Sorry if that was difficult to read, google translations aren't the best. Source. Also, have some epic Divaness:

| Chelsea transfer ban is suspended |
|
|

| |
Chelsea's transfer ban has been temporarily suspended by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) pending a final decision on the matter. Fifa had ruled the club could not sign players until 2011 after inducing Gael Kakuta to break his Lens contract. But Chelsea appealed to Cas, which said on Friday: "Such sanctions are now stayed until the Cas renders its final decision in this matter." The decision means Chelsea could be able to sign players in January. No date has been given for a final decision from Cas. Fifa had banned the Premier League leaders in September from any activity during the next two transfer windows after they were found guilty of inducing Kakuta, now aged 18, to breach his contract with French club Lens in 2007. Under the terms of the original Fifa punishment, French teenager Kakuta was ordered to pay compensation of 780,000 euros (£710,000), for which Chelsea were "jointly and severally liable". Chelsea were also told to pay Lens "training compensation" of 130,000 euros (£118,000). sauce
